  • Chris Eakin leaves BBC News

Chris Eakin joined the BBC News Channel when it launched back in November 1997 as BBC News 24, and today he says farewell to the BBC after nearly 18 years on our screens.

Chris has been seen both at the desk and on location whether on the national bulletins or the 24 hour news channel.

At 12:55 on 28th May, Chris was photobombed by one of their robotic cameras which says farewell after many incidents of bloopers involving camera 4!

At 13:50, Simon McCoy joined Chris Eakin for the final 5 minutes on air to show a montage of Chris' "best bits."
