  • BBC News Presenter Count 2015: January-June: BBC News at Five

Hello again, now lets take a look at the presenter count for the BBC News at Five. Huw has been away for a significant amount this year so far so many other presenters have made an appearance on this program:

    1. Huw Edwards - 44

    2. Gavin Esler - 35

    3. Julian Worricker - 19

    4. Emily Maitlis - 10

    5. Clive Myrie - 8

    6. Tim Willcox - 7

    7. Christian Fraser - 3

    8. Simon McCoy - 2

    8. Ros Atkins - 2

    9. Ross Hawkins - 1

    9. Maxine Mawhinney

    9. Annita McVeigh

    9. Matthew Price

Huw Edwards just scrapes the top position above Gavin, Gavin getting 2nd place after covering many of Huw's shifts this year as well as his Friday anchor position.

Julian Worricker seems to be one of the main cover presenters of this program, coming 3rd with 19 appearances.

Emily Maitlis has been one of the regular cover presenters for a while now, but Julian beat her due to her significant role now with Newsnight.

Clive Myrie now presents the 6:30-midnight shift, so can be brought in earlier to cover the News at Five which has seemed to happen now 8 times so far this year, a couple of these have been on location though.

Tim Willcox has made a few appearances on the program, multiple of them in the studio anchoring or from on location covering the story of the French Alps plane crash back in late March.

Christian Fraser appeared a few times, covering the terror attack in Paris as well as a few other appearances from Calais to cover the migrant crisis.

Simon McCoy has covered the show a couple of times along with Maxine Mawhinney and Annita McVeigh who has just once so far this year.

Ros Atkins has presented the show twice, once from Studio C to cover the terrorism attack, as well as Live from Athens to cover the crisis there.

Ross Hawkins and Matthew Price make just one appearance from presenting on location for the program too.
